  • The Assembly of Superheroes: The newest superhero team recently created in San Fernando, starting in July of 2011. Spearheaded by the idealistic young hero KAMEN RIDER, and led by the experienced Kraken, the Assembly has become the stalwart defense against widespread gang warfare and supervillainy. Amassing a sizable rogues gallery, the Assembly has proven their worth for the better part of a year, cementing the city’s trust and support of the heroes.
  • The San Fernando Police Department: The police in San Fernando have had a tough time trying to keep the citizens of San Fernando safe after the last super group in the city, the BBB, was killed off. However, its newest Police Chief, Xerxes Shepard, has been restructuring the force to better confront and detain the supervillains of the next millennium; this includes cooperating with the newly-formed Assembly, a relationship which is working wonderfully so far. For the first time in decades, crime rates are starting to fall. However, the presence of such criminal organizations like The Slavs, The Suits, and The Terror Trio, show that it’s clear that the law and its allies still have much work to do.
  • The Slavs: San Fernando’s oldest immigrant gang, currently running under the iron fist of Alexei “Czernobog” Dovchenko. Heavily involved in local drugs and racketeering, they’ve recently begun work in the illegal arms trade, especially after several failed encounters with their most hated rival, the Suits. While current members are much more incognito, older members of the Slavs can be identified by a tattoo somewhere on their bodies: the Cyrillic “C” in dark blue ink.
  • The Suits: San Fernando’s major superpowered gang. Made up of eight individuals with powers modeled after the modern and archaic playing card suits, the Suits control a wide variety of San Fernando’s criminal underworld, focusing on robberies, numbers games, and contest fixing. Underneath each member lies a network of thugs, culled from the mean streets of San Fernando; some dispossessed from other gangs, others looking to get a good start in organized crimes. Their feud with the Slavs is legendary, with fights between the two gangs requiring immediate and forceful police and superpowered suppression.
  • The Terror Trio: Another superpowered gang primarily focused on more classic supervillainy, such as theft, mass destruction, and other schemes. Comprised of The Undertaker, C-4, and Doctor Solar, the Terror Trio is a force to be reckoned with, each member with a unique set of abilities and motives. Though all three individuals are unbalanced in their own right, they know how to work together when they aren’t trying to press their own agendas.
  • The CORE: A scientific research institute founded in the 1960s, the Center for Omni-disciplinary Research and Experimentation works primarily out of San Fernando, with several smaller stations within other states. It pushes the boundaries of conventional science, working on a hybrid of funding from patents, private benefactors, and government support. Despite several security measures, the CORE does still experience theft, sabotage, and infiltration from outside elements who want their innovations, putting some items on the San Fernandan black market. However, the CORE is devoted to the idea of safe and productive “super science”, ensuring that their work benefits the city.
  • The Anti-Assembly Alliance: A group of villains with an ax to grind against the various members of the Assembly. Led by the French-Canadian wizard Monsieur Malediction, the AAA seeks to crush the Assembly through the might of their combined powers and vengeance.
